Victor Frankenstein believes that it is worth the risk of defying death, nature, and god in order to create or reanimate life. What do you think? Write a paragraph in response. Cheers.
I disagree with Victor Frankenstein’s statement. Life is certainly precious, however, all people must die at some point in time. Although anyone would like to live forever, it is impossible for this to happen. Ever since the beginning of time, the facts have been the same. People are born and then eventually die at some time in their lives. Also, God put everyone on this planet with a purpose, and it is highly immoral to go against what He has created. No type of science can change the basic principles of the circle of life, thus scientists should leave this matter alone. By attempting to defy death, nature, and God, problems are likely to occur. Human beings must understand that we cannot stop death, and certainly cannot win the battle against Mother Nature and God. Instead, we must understand that our lives are natural and appreciate this. Furthermore, to create or reanimate life would be unjust for the human race.
It depends on what your view is, since scientists would admire him while religious people would curse at him. I am neither of those two but in my opinion he does wrong by defying death, nature and God. If no one before him has created or reanimated life then there is a reason, right? He is not even sure what the outcome will be but he still wants to have the power to create or reanimate life. No one is immortal and everyone’s life comes to an end. This is the normal thing and by defying this Victor Frankenstein may cause an unbalance in nature. Raised in a religious home I would say that God created the world and he is the only God. You can't take matters into your hands since you are not meant to do that.
I think Victor Frankenstein should follow nature, existence of gods, and death. There are many scientists, who try to against the nature, that lose what they love the most. For example, Hawthorne's novel,Rappaccini's Daughter, shows that how one person's eagerness to go against the nature can bring: loss of his most precious daughter's death. Like Rappaccini, crazy scientist, Frankenstein wants to change nature and this will also bring the same result as Rappaccini. Although reanimating life is important, Frankenstein should not sacrifice someone or taking huge risk. It will be disaster after someone tries to go against nature, and this world flows in certain reasons that humans cannot change. Therefore, Victor Frankenstein should not defy nature, and he will get punished if he does not follow nature.
i disagree. i love my life. since there may be an after life dieing ma not be such a bad thing. since the beginning of time people have been gieing and being born. if it was not for death the world would be over populated. way to many people would be alive and we would have to only rely on wars to thin the population. a power such as eternal life can only be confined to a limited amount of people for a little time until major corperations start earning major profits off it. survival of the fittest. i also believe that stem cell research should stop.
I think that Victor Frankenstein's effort and willingness to reanimate life is great, but I think his efforts may be taken too far by defying death, nature, and God in order to create or reanimate it. Following these standards has been the way of life throughout all of history and it truly does not seem logical to diverge from this path. Nature and God are arguably the most powerful forces in the world, and to defy them would be completely irrational. Also by defying death, you are defying the laws of nature and Gods system of life. For every new life, another life must be lost, otherwise the world would continue to grow until it became extremely overpopulated.
I disagree. Breaking the cycle of like could have some bad consequences such as overpopulation. After a while, people would become less useless with age. It is understandable to see why Victor wants eternal life, but the consequences outweigh the possibilities here. In this case, morality outweighs science and it is not right to fight the power of life and death.
I strongly disagree with Frankenstein's statement. Everyone is born to die at some point of their lives, its called the cycle of life. There are some things us humans can do to save some people from dying at a certain point, for example, doctors try to save most patients from dying. However their existence for ever is not guaranteed. Scientists will never change the main aspect of life, death not only because it's impossible but also because, if done the world would become over populated. It will be full of old, useless individuals that cannot contribute in doing anything. Frankenstein's desire of making life eternal, would never be granted not only because it's impossible but also because it's stupid due to the fact that it's not beneficial for the human race.
Victor Frankenstein is a nutcase. You cant defy death to reanimate life. Ultimately everyone is going to die whether you like it or not. Franky should go with the flow like the rest of the world and accept that fact that life doesnt last forever.Nature and god are two of the most powerful forces that cant be beat. If people never died this world wouldnt even exist today. The fact that he would even think about reanimating life or defying death is stupid.
I disagree with Victor Frankenstein about defying death. People are born with a purpose and the life cycle should not be altered. By using science to create new life, science is being portrayed as god and a Technological god is not right. It would be affecting the natural order of things. With the creation of life, god has made a purpose for everybody and living until his or her death is the natural order of nature. If life were altered then the world would be too dense and populated and would not process, as it should. We cannot protect the living from death because death is inevitable. It is against everything that has been formed by god and its many religions around the world. Life should be praised and grateful and should end when the time is right. With the set up of life already in place, trying to defy death would just cause chaos. It should not be changed.
Science has always been about defying something. Throughout history theories have been formulated by proving previous beliefs wrong. Victor Frankenstein truly believes in the trend that modern science tends to be unbelievable, and thus he thinks he can defy death, nature and God in order to prove that life may be recreated. That does not mean that I agree with what he is trying to do. While I believe that keeping people from dying is a good thing, once they are dead it is not moral to bring them back, even if it is possible. So, while the scientific discovery may be helpful and worth his hard work, people who have been traumatized with death should not be brought back, especially when they are not brought back in the same body they died in. Frankenstein's efforts would be put to better use keeping people alive or to some other scientific discovery with less moral controversy.
I disagree with Victor Frankenstein because it isn't up to humans to regenerate life the way he wants to. It's just unnatural and not up to us. People die for a reason and going against nature and God is not a good decision. Reanimating life goes against the basic fabric of life and the God like powers Victor Frankenstein posses are unjust and unfair to mankind. Leave the creation and reanimation to nature.
I believe that everyone sets their own path in life, and no one except yourself can create or interfere with that. I'm not saying everyone has their own destiny, but everyone creates their own path, how you live your life is up to you, your life is what you make of it. No one should have the right to change your own path with science. If you want to prevent your own death but going to a doctor, thats fine, you have chosen to do so, but if Victor Frankenstein creates life, or brings life back from death, this is completely wrong because he is not giving this "person" or "thing" a choice. Frankenstein is trying to be "God" by creating life, which is extremely wrong, and is absolutely not worth the risk to "defy death, nature, and god".
I disagree with Victor Frankenstein's statement that it is worth the risk of defying death, nature, and god to recreate life. Death is an aspect of life that cannot be changed, as it is inevitable. By reanimating life Victor is playing God, and people are not supposed to do that. People are supposed to accept the reality that we live and then we die. A person should not be able to inhibit death because that is making what is natural, unnatural. Also by playing God and trying to reanimate life many mistakes can be made. Victor does not know the mistakes that may occur nor does he understand the risks at stake. Due to the eminent risks and the unnatural idea of playing God, I do not agree with Victor's statement.
Lets get to the point, shall we ? What is so wrong with Frankenstein trying to create/reanimate life ? It does not matter what the scientists or church says. All that matters is what Victor Frankenstein does in his life. Defying death, nature and god is not a big deal. Victor Frankenstein is going to do what is necessary. Is it worth the risk, why not try and see how it turns out ?
I disagree with Victor Frankenstein's creating of human life. First of all, it is immoral. What gives the right to create life? The monster he created does not have self conciousness, nor moral conscience. It is nothing more than a mighty beast. Further more, how is Frankenstein's "son" going to live as a "human" as he called? It'd have no social status, and absolutely rejected by others. Frankenstein is disturbing the balance of nature. He wants to stop death, but death has exited for thousands of year. Lets say if he's right, it is legit to create human life with his science, what a world would be with many of the freaks he just created? It will only be chaotic. Thus, although Frankenstein is very cool of doing god's job, he is nonsense.
I think that trying to reanimate life is a great scientific undertaking. Saying that it defies god and everything we stand for is a little bit too extreme. I believe that if people didn't try to push the boundaries of science and their fields then we would still be cavemen.
In my opinion, Victor Frankenstein is very wrong. One should not be able to creat or reanimate life. Although, I am pro-stem cell research, I do not believe that one should be able to bring some one back to life. Regardless of science, when a person die, they should rest in peace. Just as this book showed, Frankestein wanted to be left in peace, he did not want to be brought back to life. Victor Frankenstein should follow nature's path. The cycle of life should not be touched and it is immoral to affect this cycle. People are put on Earth with a purpose and are supposed to live out their lives, but once they die, they should be able to rest. Regardless of religion, this practice would still be unethical. Obviously Victor Frankenstein was a lunatic, which is why he had no followers because his ideas were outlandish.
I believe that to be being a able to keep people from dying is a phenomenal thing. But to bring something that is already dead back to life is immoral, especially by combing unusual features of the body together. I believe that what Frankenstein is trying to accomplish is still part of science, but it is an erroneous and immoral type of science. I believe that what Frankenstein is trying to do is an extraordinary thing, but it is something that will not be excepted by the society. Instead of bringing back life, he should focus on maintaining it.
A response to Victor Frankenstein's beliefs is dependent on ones religious beliefs. Christians, Muslims and other God-worshiping religions will respond that God should have the sole power to create and destroy life. Other more modern theories, such as Darwinism, that are not based on religion would welcome such an endeavor. Science views life in a physical manner, not a spiritual manner like religion. There is no emotion connected to the mystery of life in Darwinism, there is no creator, no sole God that built the world from nothing. Because of this, scientists would be much more likely to back any research in order to create or reanimate life, whereas churches would rather believe their various faith based theories. However, both sides can agree that in the modern era, the ability to create or reanimate life can be as dangerous as it is useful if put in the wrong hands.
I dont agree with Victor Frankenstein and what he did. It isnt right to go against God's will. There is a reason why there is life and death. You cannot defy it. The world is like a cycle and Frankenstein is breaking the cycle and the system gets screwed.
I think that it is a touchy subject. I personally dont agree with this. Everyone comes and goes, and thats just the way things work, by trying to keep people alive for forever you are throwing off the natural cycle of things. I believe that everyone has a general timeline in thier lives, and they pass away when God wants them to. It is difficult to agree with Victor Frankenstien because of my religious beliefs, regardless i dont see him as an evil person for trying to prolong life. This is because he is doing it so that people can stay together and love eachother forever, if he were doing it for some evil reason then obviously it would be even more wrong than i believe it is.
